It’s time for another check-in with our upcoming Natsume Indie title, ConnecTank! Combining together elements of a roguelike with delightfully tanky gameplay found in titles like Rocket Slime, which shipping baron you work for is up to you! (Though you can always change your mind and jump to one of the others!)

FINNEAS FAT CAT XV

“Naturally, I am first to be revealed, because you already know me,” Mr. Fat Cat purred. “Of course, you will prefer my missions, because I give daily bathroom breaks. I am the most generous baron!”

You know him, he’s always butting in. A hypercapitalist, this fat cat wants to spread his good name far and wide! Whether that’s by building more factories for his “beloved” employees to work in or statues made in his image, Finneas has his paws in everything. If only he could keep track of that pesky yarn ball…

One word describes Lord Lewis: eccentric! Okay, and probably also tall.

For him, money is a means to culture, not just a means to an end. However, that passion for the arts still somehow involves building giant statues of himself…just like his competition. Will he build a modern arts museum that puts The Louvre to shame? That’s up to your driving skills, of course.

EMPEROR PONTIUS PENGUIN

Leader of the Tundra Collective, the Emperor has only recently seized power in his snowy territory. Seize the means of production! For the glory of the Tundra! Get paid in cash, not exposure! Also, he really wants to build a statue of himself. What a strange coincidence?!

“BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!“

There’s actually an additional three shipping barons — each of which is the archrival of Finneas, Lewis, and Pontius. Working for any of their nemeses will weaken the power of the corresponding shipping baron.

Why would you want to do that? Excellent question! But we wouldn’t want to spoil everything today.

ConnecTank is a 1 to 4 player 2D action-adventure game developed by YummyYummyTummy, Inc and published by Natsume, Inc.

It combines exciting tank battles with puzzle solving. Deliver packages for one of three Barons seeking to become the top Tycoon of New Pangea. Through innovative tank battle mechanics utilizing both skill and teamwork, players fight rival tanks to improve their existing tank or, once enough parts are collected, use new ones!

Each mammoth sized tank comes with its own unique skills, strengths, and weaknesses, so choose wisely! With hundreds of missions, ever-changing powerups, and dozens of tanks to battle the possibilities are endless!

You’ll soon have the chance to prove your action puzzling skills when ConnecTank rumbles onto Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam this summer.

It’s that time again~ We’re reviewing a not three, not four, but FIVE screenshots for our upcoming Natsume Indie title, ConnecTank! This time, I absolutely promise, we won’t get interru– oh, well…

“Yes yes, good show! I shall be explaining things now as usual,” Mr. Fat Cat interruptedly purred. “Of course, I shall be including two never-before-seen screenshots, because I am the best baron.”

“As one of our highly valued drivers, you’ll receive requests not just from shipping barons like myself, but also from a variety of NPCs! There’s no shortage of work to be had in New Pangea…for those willing to work.”

To catch you up if you’ve missed any of the previous information, ConnecTank is an action puzzle game where you’re a tank driver hustling in the gig economy of New Pangea! There are many drivers, and different kinds of tanks. Conquer other gig tank drivers with ammo that comes in three colors (red, yellow, and blue) each with their own strength and weaknesses. Oh, and tanks can shoot high or low, adding an additional element for choosing what, when, and where to fire your cannons!

“If for some peculiar reason you feel the need to pick up additional work, I suppose you can talk to some of the other shipping barons. Not that they’ll appreciate you like I do…” Mr. Fat Cat casually purred.

Each shipping baron will have many drivers that work for them, and they don’t mind scooping up your cargo too…after they blow you up!

There’s also a variety of vendors you’ll be able to interact with, who’s reputation you’ll curry (or lose!) depending upon which baron you work for. There’s many choices to make, and we’re not exaggerating when we say every run of ConnecTank will be slightly different, depending upon a variety of choices you get to make!

“As our highly valued drivers, choosing the right gig is very important. As you are not employees but contractors, I am naturally not responsible for your actions, and though I might miss you when you’re gone, such is the life of delivery personnel!”

“We’re recruiting gamers to drive ConnecTanks to deliver goods to customers and greenbacks into my paws! Here is what the inside of a tank looks like. You’ll naturally need to connect belts together to delivery ammo against tank foes looking to steal my goods. Hmph.”

AHEM. As I was saying before a certain rude interjection, ConnecTank is a puzzle game, where you’re a delivery driver. Part of being a good delivery person is choosing your route from origin point to destination. Different routes will have varying foes, so you’ll want to consider the strengths and weaknesses of both your tank and theirs before proceeding.

“Excuse me, but I am the best boss. In fact, I’ve even upgraded all of my delivery drivers to have a bathroom break recently! See how generous I am?” Mr. Fat Cat casually purred.
